White gold from around 90% of jewellers does discolour. Technically it doesn't tarnish. What actually happens is a plating called 'rhodium' wears off. Rhodium plating is applied becuase most white gold is surprisingly yellow. At RING jewellers we do not rhodium plate out white gold. Instead we use superior alloys which means that our white gold does not require the costly upkeep of plated white gold. Our 'natural' 18ct white gold is a warm off-white grey. Our natural 9ct white gold is a pale, creamy colour.
